Congress of New Urbanism

India Urban Portal – The PEARL Website

PEARL is an initiative under JNNURM to support selected cities to actively network among themselves for cross learning and knowledge sharing. As National Coordinator of PEARL, NIUA has set up a PEARL website “India Urban Portal” that is operationalized and linked with JNNURM website. This website documents best practices, projects, reforms, innovations etc. carried out in the selected cities under JNNURM.

INTBAU

INTBAU is a world wide organization dedicated to the support of traditional building, the maintenance of local character and the creation of better places to live. INTBAU is a force for the continuity of tradition in architecture and building and the promotion of traditional urban design, wherever it is found. INTBAU’s architecture and urban design workshops bring together practitioners, artisans and students.

Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission


The Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) is a project of India’s central government. Through this project, the central government will fund cities for developing urban infrastructure and services.

Ministry of New and Renewable

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is the nodal Ministry of the Government of India for all matters relating to new and renewable energy. The broad aim of the Ministry is to develop and deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of the country.

Ministry of Power

Alleviation is the apex authority of Government of India and is concerned with perspective planning, policy formulation, processing of projects for investment decision, monitoring of the implementation of power projects, training and manpower development and the administration and enactment of legislation in regard to thermal, hydro power generation, transmission and distribution.

The Ministry of Urban Employment & Poverty Alleviation is the apex authority of Government of India at the national level to formulate policies, sponsor and support programme, coordinate the activities of various Central Ministries, State Governments and other nodal authorities and monitor the programmes concerning all the issues of urban employment, poverty and housing in the country.

The Ministry of Urban Development & the Ministry of Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation are the apex authority of Government of India at the national level to formulate policies, sponsor and support programme, coordinate the activities of various Central Ministries, State Governments and other nodal authorities and monitor the programmes concerning all the issues of urban development in the country.

Ministry of Water Resources

Ministry of the Water Resources is the apex authority of Government of India to fulfil the overall planning and coordination of all aspects of the development of the country’s water resources.

Planning Commision

The Planning Commission was set up by a Resolution of the Government of India in March 1950 in pursuance of declared objectives of the Government to promote a rapid rise in the standard of living of the people by efficient exploitation of the resources of the country, increasing production and offering opportunities to all for employment in the service of the community
